About me
My name is Laurence, I am 41 years old, I am married, and I have 3 wonderful children. I have always loved sports, a hobby that I inherited from my grandmother. I have played field hockey all my life having reached the highest level even in the national team of Belgium, my native country.
I also want to share other facets of my life. After my three children, I sadly had three miscarriages and also lost a baby at 18 weeks pregnant. Just after the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic had passed. From this moment I began to deepen my studies on hormones and the female body. All this new knowledge and the interest that it has aroused in me have led me to today want to guide women with their hormonal imbalance. An important aspect that can be solved, to a large extent, thanks to a proper diet and physical exercise.
I had created a sports school where I taught hockey, when unfortunately, or fortunately something changed in my life and as a result of a back problem and the arrival of my motherhood I had to rest a bit from so much sport. I redirected my passion for sports towards the special attention of young people and people with functional diversity, with whom I formed the Brugge G-Hockey Team.
During this stage, the physical problems did not stop, and even fibromyalgia came, so I spent less time in sports. This encouraged me to start my own lingerie store, with which I was able to reconcile both lifestyles and my own health for a decade. The health problems did not stop because I spent a lot of time standing in the store, so I decided to take a 180-degree turn and immerse myself in the world of hockey training. The pains reminded me that this time I had to do different things, and then a close friend opened a study on Pilates and healthy eating. This is how I finally began to connect with a lifestyle that allowed me to improve physical problems and lift my spirits at such a difficult time in my life.
Today I am convinced that if I had discovered Pilates earlier, I would not have had so many physical problems. I know this through my own experience in the sector, complementary to my subsequent training in sports nutrition. All this, and going through five different diets in five years, has made me find my way without giving up enjoying my passion, or life. Now I can say that I am fully happy; I continue to train the hockey team and I have finished training as a Pilates instructor.
